Telephone Technical Support Representative
I provided telephone technical support for customers with film cameras, analog and digital camcorders. This included trouble-shooting issues dealing with computer connectivity (all versions of Windows and Macintosh) to their device, as well as answering questions they may have on the use of their product. Periodically, I assisted the email support team with answering incoming email during high volume periods. Training chose me to be a training assistant for a new-hire video camera and film camera class. Furthermore, I developed and implemented training programs for associates who handled customers in the XL owners club. For six months, I was in charge of the customer shortage fund. This included placing and filling orders for customers that needed items missing from their product. When the position was moved from the camera department, I trained the person who assumed that position. By supervisor request, I continued to order items for in department use and ship high-end video projectors to customers requesting them. My responsibilities also included registering high-end camcorders by fax and I sent out registration packets to high-end digital customers. My supervisor assigned me callbacks for difficult customers. Additionally, I provided clerical assistance and similar duties for the senior supervisor in the camera department.

Supervising up to 10 personnel, depending on the time of year, my duties covered every aspect of running the store: opening, closing, register operations, daily and monthly paperwork, receiving shipments, stocking product, scheduling issues, interviewing during the holiday season, change of promotional signs, product demonstration, helping customers, handling customer service issues, making nightly bank deposits, and answering phones. As a Consultant, I trained associates on current promotions and set goals for the shift to make sales goals. While underway I tracked the ship’s position in relation to other sea going vessels and land on radar and maneuvering boards. Participated in entering and leaving port operations in the Bridge. Supervised up to five lower ranking personnel in daily activities such as watch standing and cleaning. Stood watch on the Quarterdeck permitting personnel to leave and enter the ship, answering the phone, and keeping a log of activities that happened on the quarterdeck during my watch. Destroyed and inventoried confidential, secret, and top-secret documents. Began data entry to facilitate the transfer of training information to a computer program and conducted departmental training.
